Artisan Grills by Alfresco
High quality gets a high emphasis from the engineers at Artisan — all Artisan grills are made in the USA using commercial-grade 304, 18-8 stainless steel and are assembled using helic-arc hand-welded seams and no mechanical fasteners. It makes for a more solid-feeling & more substantial grill when compared to overseas options.

For a high-end, engineered grill, the prices are reasonable. There are 2 different product lines within the brand – the American Eagle series and the top-of-the-line Professional Series. The Artisan brand was created & established by Alfresco, a super high end outdoor kitchen manufacturer, to fill a gap in the marketplace between imported offerings & super high-end luxury offerings. Before the launch of Artisan, there really wasn’t a product in between those two ends of the spectrum until the Artisan lines came out.
The American Eagle & Professional Series are both extremely high quality and share similar features:
- Powerful 20,000 BTU stainless U-burners
- Switchable burners (U-burner or Infrared Searing Burner)
- Ceramic briquettes to evenly distribute heat across the entire grilling surface (with self-cleaning briquette trays!)
- Heavy-duty stainless-steel grates
- Warming rack with two possible positions
- Specially designed air curtain that keeps front controls cool to the touch
- Stainless steel spring hood assist
You also get ultimate flexibility. Both lines are offered as built-in grills for outdoor kitchens, or connected to carts as free-standing units. The lines come from similar engineering quality standards, with the Professional Series offering more bells & whistles and available upgrades.
Things to Consider
Artisan grills are backed by a 10 year warranty for all stainless steel grill parts and 15 years on the burners. The flame tamers are covered for 3 years. All other grill components, including igniters are covered for 1 year from the date of purchase.
The Professional Series
The Professional Artisan grill by Alfresco is the top of the line offering and is designed to provide superior combustion, more even heat distribution, and more accurate temperature control for serious cooks.
Available in three sizes (32 inches, 36 inches or 42 inches), this grill is sure to fit within your space, whether it is for a deck or terrace or a large, full-featured outdoor kitchen. Interior lights illuminate the grilling surface while control panel lights make it easy to cook in the evenings and after dark. A rotisserie back burner lets you roast gorgeous cuts of meat (or entire chickens).
An electrical hookup is necessary for the professional series, as the ignitor needs a 110-volt signal.
The American Eagle Series
The American Eagle series of the Artisan grills by Alfresco is the lower-priced of the two lines, but is by no means a stripped down version. As listed above, the two lines share many of the same upscale, professional features, but there are some differences that are intentionally designed to lower the price.
First of all, the American Eagle model is also available in three sizes : 26 inches, 32 inches, or 36 inches. Here are the other differences.
- The ignition is powered by a 9-volt battery
- There are no interior lights in the grill.
- There is no rotisserie back burner.
- There are no control panel lights.
All in all, the functionality is the same and the features excluded in the American Eagle model don’t change the way the grill works. You’re still getting all the best features of the Professional model, but you can choose to get a smaller size if that works better for your space.
